Get to know Rio in a full day visit

The fantastic mountains surrounding the city of Rio de Janeiro provide the opportunity for a panoramic view overlooking the city. We start the day at the National Park of Tijuca where we will visit the statue of Christ, placed on top of one of the highest peaks in the park. From here we will get to know the geography and urban development of the city.

We then drive down through part of the beautiful and green Tijuca forest and stop in the charming, old Santa Teresa district, where we will have a different and interesting perspective.

Following a short walk, we will take the old tramway to have a close up look at the downtown district, where we feel the excitement and bustle of the business area. Here we also will get to know some of the old, beautiful buildings, which are part of the colonial history of Brazil.

The tour departs from your hotel at 8 AM and ends at 4 PM back at your hotel.

 What is included: All transportation, entrance fee to the National Park including the statue of Christ the Redeemer and bilingual certified guide, who will accompany you the whole trip.

What is not included: Lunch, snacks and drinks during the tour.

What we will do: Get to know the geography and urban life of Rio de Janeiro visiting the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the Tijuca Forest and the Santa Teresa area. From there we will take the old tram over the aqueduct to downtown, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we walk around the downtown district, getting to know the historical and popular places of town.

What to bring: Light clothing & walking shoes. Do bring sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun.

Who is the tour leader: We train our staff of guides in cooperation with biologists and environmental experts. They are English speaking, specially trained to offer you relevant information on the specific places we visit.

How is the transport: On all our tours we use air-conditioned cars or vans, certified by EMBRATUR to do tourism, with  comfortable seats. The drivers  are experienced, and some  are bilingual. Even though we will not use the car during the whole tour, the driver shall be available, so if we need to use the car, it is just a call away.
