Corcovado & Tijuca Forest (6h)

Take a wonderful six-hour tour to get to know some of Rio de Janeiro’s most sensational places. First we will take you to the Corcovado Mountain, where at 760 meters altitude the Christ statue will be waiting with open arms. From there we will continue to the Tijuca National Park, which has the planet’s largest urban forest !

 You will be picked up in a van and driven to the Corcovado Train Station. From there we will take a 30-minute ride up to the top. There one has a full view of the wonderful city and your guide will make a brief explanation of the city and its most interesting points and places. After appreciating the grand monument, which oversees the city, we will take the train back down and continue driving to the Tijuca National Park, where we will see the Cascatinha, a small but very pretty waterfall at the entrance to the park. We will continue on foot on a light hike down a trail, where we may spot birds or other animals, which are typical of the Atlantic rainforest. We end our visit at the Museu do Açude, a beautiful house donated to the city by the Castro Maia family, and which  now is a museum. (Those who don’t appreciate hiking may be driven). After a stroll through the gardens and appreciating the sculptures and paintings we head back to the city, after some very relaxing hours enjoying the lush, green areas above Rio de Janeiro.
