Situated in the west of Brazil, partly extending into Bolivia and Paraguay, with the noble title of South America's main wildlife sanctuary, it is the delight of wildlife watchers and photographers. It is in this unique and rare biological diversity that we find the Araras Eco Lodge, a former farm, now transformed into a charming guesthouse, ready to receive you and share their nature experience. The Araras Eco Lodge will be your home for four days and three nights, where you can enjoy yourself with wildlife tours in the surroundings. The Araras staff will take you on canoe trips up quiet rivers, horseback riding through the marshlands, night animal spotting tours, bird watching and light hikes getting to know the ecosystem. This Ecological Refuge is located 236 quilometres from Campo Grande in the south of the Pantanal. the lodges 53.000 hectares is situated on a cattle farm, and furthermore, they sponsor specific cientific projects with the Blue Arara, and a big private protected area. Here you find 4 pousadas all with full facilities such as pool and rooms with air conditioning, bathrooms and cable TV. Built in harmony with the environment, without renouncing comfort, the lodge is reachable all year-round by car via the Transpantaneira Park Road, 132 km south of Cuiabá (the capital of the State of Mato Grosso). From this lodge, with enviably preserved surroundings, it is possible to do first class bird watching, trekking in pristine forest, canoeing, horseback riding, truck photo safaris, night tours and much more, all under the assistance of expert bilingual naturalist guides. The lodge, built in regional rustic style, offers 19 comfortable rooms with air conditioning with screened windows, fans, private bathrooms (cold and hot shower), a swimming pool with adjoining covered area for meals, large verandas with hammocks, gift shop, bar and restaurant. The excellent regional food consists of dishes made from the tasty meat and fishes of the Pantanal, as well as organic salads, vegetables and seasonal fruits.
